Keyword search could go the way of the buffalo

What interests me isn't whether the skill disappears, but whether anyone bothers to learn it in the first place. As we move into the future, will more and more people get lazy about learning new skills? Rotary phones went away because something else did the job better. I'm not sure keyword search has been beaten yet, just avoided?

Excellent point! Is it lazy? Maybe? But I see it another way. Does it lower cognitive cost or friction? Does it let the user run a little faster with thought? Maybe? Will searching with keywords take on an intellectual tag, like developing your own film or will it become a sign of change that is exploited in friction as an earmark of the time frame. Like how Dustbusters read 80s?
