Keyword search could go the way of the buffalo

For decades, we’ve trained ourselves to translate questions into machine-friendly fragments. Conversational AI removes some of that cognitive translation. I’m interested in whether keyword search will eventually look like a historical behavior, the way dialing a rotary phone does.

What interests me isn't whether the skill disappears, but whether anyone bothers to learn it in the first place. As we move into the future, will more and more people get lazy about learning new skills? Rotary phones went away because something else did the job better. I'm not sure keyword search has been beaten yet, just avoided?
