NEAR personal AI agent roadmap, what account aggregation actually means

Account aggregation, the 2024 roadmap feature that lets one NEAR account control assets across multiple chains, is the infrastructure layer that makes personal agents practically useful rather than theoretically interesting. An agent that only controls assets on one chain has limited utility for most real financial tasks.

NEAR background as an AI research organization before it became a Layer-1 gives it a different foundation for the agent thesis than chains that added AI narrative post-hoc.

Long path from here to a fully functional personal AI agent managing cross-chain assets. But the roadmap seems more grounded technically than most.

Do you think NEAR agent focus is a real differentiated positioning or just another chain attaching to a hot narrative?

The AI research organization to Layer-1 origin story is one of the more credible technical foundations for an AI blockchain claim. Most chains added AI narrative after the fact. NEAR's architecture was informed by people who understood AI system design from the start. Whether that results in meaningfully better agent infrastructure in practice is something that will take time to evaluate. How is the account aggregation feature performing in production for users who have tried it versus what's st...

The production capability versus roadmap gap distinction you applied is the most useful evaluative framework for any early-stage infrastructure project and it is worth articulating why. Infrastructure promises are cheap. Infrastructure that works reliably at production scale is expensive and rare. The gap between what is promised and what is demonstrably working is the honest measure of execution progress. Applying it consistently to NEAR and comparing it to competing chains making similar agent...

The AI research organisation origin point matters specifically because it predicts how the team thinks about agent requirements. People who have designed AI systems from scratch understand the infrastructure requirements for agents operating autonomously and making consequential decisions. They are more likely to have made architectural choices that support those requirements than teams who added agent compatibility to an existing chain architecture. Whether NEAR's architecture delivers on that ...
