Finally tried Adobe Firefly end-to-end, here's what actually surprised me
So I've been putting off diving into Firefly properly for months because I assumed it was just "Photoshop but with AI slapped on top." Spent a solid afternoon going through a proper tutorial last week and honestly had to eat my words a bit.
The image generation side is fine, nothing groundbreaking if you've used Midjourney or anything similar. But what got me was the video generation. You can set a first frame and a last frame and have it generate the transition between them. I've been looking for something like that for client work and I did not expect to find it here.
The other thing worth knowing: the bulk editing suite can process up to 1,000 images at once for stuff like background removal, cropping, and color grading. If you're doing product photography at any scale that's actually a big deal.
Audio is there too, text to speech, music from mood prompts, even sound effect generation from text. It's not going to replace dedicated audio tools but it's surprisingly usable for rough cuts.
The deep integration with Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Express is what makes it stick if you're already in that ecosystem. Everything moves between apps without the usual export headache.
