The channel isn't dead, the lazy use of it is dead. We use AI to research the prospect and identify a specific, genuine trigger event (a funding round, a new hire, a published article), then write a 3-sentence human email referencing that event. Response rates are back up.

That's a valid approach, but it's essentially using AI to do the research and then writing the email yourself. The AI is not writing the email.

This is why our company policy now explicitly bans using AI to 'professionalize' internal emails. We tell staff: just send the bullet points. It saves everyone time.
