HaiLuo AI does something with facial animation that I have not seen other tools do as well
I have been testing AI video generators pretty systematically for the past few months and HaiLuo AI has a specific capability that stands out enough to write about properly.
The facial animation on static photos is the thing. You upload a still image of a person and the tool can animate it with a specific expression or movement, making the subject smile, blink, wink, nod. The accuracy is noticeably better than the other tools I have tried for this use case. It does not look uncanny in the way that facial animation usually does with AI tools.
The broader video generation covers Text-to-Video, Image-to-Video and a Subject Reference mode that maintains character consistency across multiple clips, which is the same challenge everyone working in AI video runs into.
Audio tools are also built in. Text-to-speech with customizable emotion, speed and pitch settings, and a Voice Isolator that removes background noise from recordings. Having audio tools alongside video generation in the same platform is genuinely convenient.
There is also an integrated chatbot called MiniMax Chat with DeepSeek-R1 reasoning and web search if you want a general AI assistant in the same place.
Asset management lets you organize everything into folders and there is a Discover page to browse what other people are making, which is useful for figuring out what kinds of prompts produce good results before you start experimenting yourself.
