HaiLuo's Subject Reference model put me in AI-generated videos with accurate likeness and I want to talk about that
I build personal brand content and being in the videos matters. The challenge with AI video generation for personal brand is that generic avatars do not represent you and building a custom avatar through traditional tools is an involved process.
HaiLuo's Subject Reference feature, which they call S2V-01, works differently. You upload a photo of yourself and it generates video featuring a consistent, accurate likeness of you as the subject. Not a stylized avatar, a generated representation that maintains recognizable features across different scenes and settings.
I tested it with a headshot and the likeness accuracy was noticeably better than other tools I had tried. The consistency held across different prompts, different backgrounds and different poses in a way that has not been reliable in other platforms.
The Director model for camera control runs alongside this. You can apply specific camera movements to the generated video, zoom in, circling pan, downward tilt, with precision rather than hoping the generation includes interesting camera behavior by chance.
The Lifelike Character Animation model is optimized for realistic human movement which matters when the subject is a real person rather than a stylized character. Movement artifacts and unnatural motion are the things that break the illusion in AI video and this model handles them better than the general-purpose generation models I had used before.
