WhatAI Kimi Forum Discussions
Kimi is an all-in-one AI workspace from Moonshot AI for chat, research, coding, office work, website creation, browser tasks, and multi-agent execution. Its strongest differentiator is not one isolated model benchmark. It connects several work surfaces around the same account and credit system: Kimi chat, Kimi Agent, Agent Swarm, Kimi Work for local desktop workflows, Kimi Code for terminal and IDE use, WebBridge for browser interaction, Kimi Claw for persistent agents, and an OpenAI-compatible developer API. The current flagship Kimi K3 model supports native text, image, and video understanding with a context window of up to one million tokens. Kimi can search and fetch the web, run Python, work with documents and spreadsheets, generate slides, build and deploy websites, inspect codebases, and coordinate parallel subagents for broad research or batch work. K2.6 chat is available without consuming membership credits, while K3, Agent, Swarm, Kimi Code, Kimi Work, Deep Research, Slides, websites, and related features draw from a shared credit pool. Individual plans range from a free tier to $199 per month, and a separate Business plan starts at five annual seats. Developers can also pay by API token. Kimi is unusually broad, but that breadth creates complexity: features have different limits, the shared credit pool can be consumed quickly by demanding work, generated facts and files still require review, and local or browser automation needs carefully scoped permissions.
