Communication is where AI assistance is most useful and most awkward. It saves real time on routine messages, and it raises a question every other category avoids: how much of this should the other person know about.
The practical threads come first. Email drafting and triage tools, reply suggestion quality, meeting assistants that join calls and summarise, chat and messaging integrations, and translation for cross-language teams. Members compare how well each handles tone, because a message that reads as competent but not like you is often worse than a slower reply.
The judgement threads follow. Norms around disclosure are still forming and differ by workplace and by relationship. A generated meeting summary is treated very differently from a generated condolence note, and members here have sensible disagreements about where the line sits.
