Firefly is chosen for reasons that have little to do with raw output quality, and that makes the discussion here different from other image generator categories.
The training data question is the main one. Adobe's position on commercially safe generation and indemnification matters to agencies and in-house teams in a way it does not to hobbyists, and members work through what the guarantee actually covers and where the edges are.
Integration is the other draw. Generative fill and expand inside Photoshop, text effects, vector generation in Illustrator, and how the AI features sit in an existing production workflow rather than replacing it. Members comparing Firefly output against Midjourney usually conclude the choice is about licensing and workflow rather than quality.
Surface differences matter here. Firefly as a standalone web application, the generative features embedded in individual Creative Cloud apps, and any partner models exposed inside it each behave differently, and members regularly find that a feature they read about lives somewhere other than where they looked. Plan entitlements and how credits are allocated across those surfaces get similar attention.
